recently i read a post by a friend who lost her husband in afghanistan.
despite her horrible circumstances, she is one of the most positive people i know.
even though her husband, of only a few months, was violently ripped away from her, she somehow
keeps it all together. keeps being selfless. keeps being motivational. keeps being amazing.
so for this monday's motivation, i'm going to let emily inspire you...
something she always does for me.

"having a rough morning?
here's a little advice... stop complaining.
stop feeling sorry for yourself.
you're alive aren't you?
then you have everything you need to make a difference in the world.
get up and do something with your life -- i'm begging you.
stop making excuses, and stop complaining about petty things.
if not for yourself, at least do it for those who have been robbed
of the opportunity."

if you were looking for a sign, here it is. there is only one of you. make the best of it.

  1. just what i needed to read this morning! i just got some disappointing news about a job opportunity and was really feeling sorry for myself. but in the grand schemee of things, this is not the end of the world and i need to stay positive. my sympathies to your friend. her attitude towards life is amazing.

  2. You are absolutely right! There are so many things in life that we think are bad but after all is said and done - we are alive. Things always seem to have a way of working out.

Thank-you for your comments, they brighten my day! x
